10 months old!!!

So Devin turned 10 months old on March 10th and it was a big day for him. It was finally one of the first days of the year that it was nice enough to go out and play in the grass (which he loved). We even decided it was time to get his first hair cut. This was a big deal for me because my son had quite the mullet going on. It was so long that I could even put it in a pony-tail which was the first to go.

After his hair had been cut for only about an hour, Devin decided he was ready to stand on his own. When Jeremy and I saw this we thought we would see how he did at walking. And lo and behold, Devin took his first steps this day too. I guess it was all that hair that had been weighing him down before.
So there you have it, quite the day for a not so little - little boy.

My New Life

Welcome to my new life, I am craft girl whenever my son allows it. And here are my new hobbies. I am really into making multi-textural canvas paintings and I hope I can sell a couple of them to anyone who is interested. I am thinking of only charging $5 and that is mostly to cover the supplies. But I can paint pretty much whatever you have in mind and they look great in kids rooms. Here are a few of the designs I have done already, and keep in mind I can make whatever you would like.

I have also been led into the most amazing website called craftgawker.com and I stumbled upon these little diddies. They are supposed to look like little bird nest necklaces (I only have a necklace on one right now), whether they do or not you can be the one to judge. I plan on charging $5 for them as well, so again, if you are interested give me a shout out and I will see what I can do for you. ;)

That's My Boy!

So my little boy is not so little any more and it makes me sad. He thinks he has to grow up now, and is more like Peter Pan in reverse. This is a picture of the very first time he ate cereal. He did very well and he even grabbed the spoon and fed himself a time or two.

This is where I left him.

This is where I found him

I am always amazed to see what position my son is in when I come back into the room. I left him on his blanket one day while I went to check a recipe and two minutes later he had rolled across the floor.

I also love to see the different positions he puts himself in while sleeping. He is as always my little Capt. Awesome.

First Picnic

We are trying to capture a lot of Devin's firsts on camera. Here is a picture of his first picnic. After we had picked the perfect spot for our blanket, we looked down and found the biggest beetle I have ever seen. We could have had him for a snack and not needed anymore of the food we brought.

Figuring it out part two.

So after 3 years of not posting in my blog, I've decided to try it again. I have had a lot of requests for the blog since our new arrival, and I want to keep our fans happy. So I will be learning how to blog here in the next few weeks so everyone can keep up to date with our little man. Wish me luck.

3:10 to Yuma vs. 5.09 to Big Sur

OMG!!! So the first couple of days have been jammed packed with biking hiking and driving and more walking then I wanted to do. The first morning we went on a walk to the bay and it was amazing to see the marina and all of the seals on the shore they were really funny. We met the current managers and the employees of our little store and it's interesting. We went all over the place and I am tired.
The second morning the hotel front desk told us we had to head to Big Sur and eat at this one resturant there. She had given us quick directions and off we went. I thought it would be a good idea to get gas at the time but we had a quarter of a tank and thought we could get some later so we started on our trip. We ended up stopping first at Point Lobos National Park and it was awesome to be in a forest campground that was surrounded by coastlines. It was a beautiful place and would recommend it. However I am not so sure I would do the same for Big Sur. We drove the coast and it was beautiful, but we could never find the amazing resturant and it was frusterating. And then we were running out of gas and decided to pull over in Big Sur just to put enough in to get us home. When we pulled up to the pump a guy came out to fill us up. We looked at the pump and noticed that it said 3.84 so we thought we might as well fill up because that is how much it costs out here anyways. Well then the attentent started washing our window and we got distracted long enough to realize that our tank was almost full and instead of it cost 3.84 a gallon like we thought...it was 5.09 for 1 gallon of GAS!!!! Needless to say I don't think we will be going back down that was for a little while.

Del Sol to Monterey

So we had a weeks worth of training at Pedersen Worldwide University and we thought all was fine and dandy until the second day of training when we found out that we were actually going to be managers of the Monterey store. It was exciting but also quite freaky as we have never managed anything except for our crazy lives, so we will see how it goes.
When we did arrive in Monterey it was about midnight after our 14 hours of driving and we settled into our hotel room that we would be in for 10 days. However, it was quite a neat experience because as we were about to fall asleep we could hear the barking of sea lions from the bay without even realizing we were that close. We couldn't wait to wake up and actually see what Monterey had to offer.
